ChatGPT is clearly better than Google Translate. Right?
Once again I asked an AI Image Generator to provide the best header: title "Google Translate VS ChatGPT "
I had been thinking about publishing a game translated by ChatGPT for a while, but during the Italian Christmas Jam, I gave up the task after at least two hours spent searching for free translation APIs to use with MemoQ, and there were too many words to manually copy-paste.
So here I am with my sick dream, a stressful and annoying one, because ChatGPT is finicky, because after working fine for 3-4 requests it suddenly goes crazy, skipping lines, alternating the translation with the source, writing a whole wall of text without breaking the sentences, rewriting them in the source language without translating them, and all sorts of hilarious (not) stuff.
I had to add this one too, it's just too good to keep it for myself
I needed to thoroughly investigate this experiment to finally answer THE question: which is better, Google or ChatGPT?
I still don't know the answer, but to my great surprise, in this experiment, the GTranslate localization was sometimes more accurate than ChatGPT's.
As for the other game I released, I'll leave here the online file with my translation and the two MT versions (here), but I'll display below some of the most obvious epic fails.
Enjoy the misunderstandings and broken English, or - for the brave ones - try your hand at the surreal version of this game.
